Kaspersky has introduced a stand-alone on-demand utility that combines the full features of its Antivirus program, with the full features of its Anti-rootkit utility, AZP. It is updated generally about every two hours.
The tool is for once only on-demand use. It does not provide any real-time continuing antivirus protection. It should not conflict in its use with any already installed antivirus product from another vendor, although this protection should be disabled prior to running the software. This is a different product than the
Kaspersky® On-Line Virus Scanner . It would be a good choice for heavily infected computers, and for computers with Autorun and difficult Rootkit-based types of infections. It does have a larger download requirement as a result.
Highlights- Easy interface.
- Can be installed to an infected machine (Safe Mode supported).
- Integral search and removal of malicious software: effective combination of signature detection and heuristic analyzer.
- System Analysis and interactive scripting language.
- Freeware.
