I have tried to run System Restore in XP but I get this error message:
Restoration incomplete
Your computer cannot be restored to
(the DATE I chose)
System Checkpoint
No changes have been made to your computer
To choose another restore point, restart System Restore"

I tried choosing another restore date, but I get the same error message. I
will appreciate advice.

I've tried safe mode, does'nt work.

Is a Norton application installed or has one ever been installed?

What anti-virus application did you install to replace the Norton application and is your subscription current?

Did you (1) uninstall the Norton application and then (2) download/run the Norton Removal Tool (3) before you installed the replacement application?

Have you ever run the Norton Removal Tool?

I really don't remember it's a long time ago, I've replaced it with AVG Anti-virus about 4 years ago.

I don't know if I have used NOrton removal kit

1. Download the Norton Removal Tool, saving it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

2. Close all open applications (i.e., anything with an icon on the taskbar).

3. Double-click on the file you saved in #1 above to run the utility. Don't TOUCH your keyboard until the run completes, then reboot.

4. Test.

Then chances are that you're seeing the effects of a hijackware infection.

Unfortunately, we can't help you with such issues in AumHa Forums right now. See the alternate suggestions here: http://aumha.net/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=42617

Best of luck!
