Hi

I am using Vista Home Premium SP1

Windows Update indicates that I should download/install important. The update is SP2 (kb948465). For some time now I have been trying to install but to date not successfully.
The url's show what has transpired thus far.
Any help/advice in an effort to successfully install this update appreciated.

Hi Robear

My sincere apologies for this very late response but the problem has been solved. It is one of those situations which became very frustrating having tried the solutions to which you referred and having no joy. I had more or less given up bcs no idea what was causing the problem.
It had got to the stage where I had almost given up with exhaustion and made a positive decision to await the publication of WIN 7.
The funniest thing happened just last week, in that I tried to do the update once again and blow me over it worked like a dream doing the normal updating process. This h/ever has not deterred me from installing Win 7 which I am now in the process of carrying out (i.e. backup the necessary files etc) as it is my intention to do a clean install as opposed to the update.

Thanks once again and apologies once more for late response

Tks
