hi people,

I recently get bleu screens with a stop error. Did alot of googling but still can't figure out what the problem is.

so this is what it does:
I get a bleu screen with stop 0x0000008E ( 0xC0000005, 0x819E2B11, 0x96EBB7C4, 0x00000000)
my laptop also does some dumping and after that it restarts by itself.

every help is appreciated. thx

found this on http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/ms794023.aspx, maybe it could help you guys:

-0x8E: KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
The KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED bug check has a value of 0x0000008E

-0xC0000005: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION indicates that a memory access violation occurred.

That page could help you...:

If you do not know the specific cause of the exception, consider the following items:

  • Hardware incompatibility. Make sure that any new hardware installed is listed in the Microsoft Windows Marketplace Tested Products List.

  • Faulty device driver or system service. A faulty device driver or system service might be responsible for this error. Hardware issues, such as BIOS incompatibilities, memory conflicts, and IRQ conflicts can also generate this error.
