WinXP Users:

If you install IE7 or IE8 and then install WinXP SP3, you will not be able to uninstall IE7 or IE8 without first uninstalling SP3. See http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2008/05/05/ie-and-xpsp3.aspx

Vista Users:

The same does not hold true for Vista. If you install IE8 and then install Vista SP1 or SP2, you will be able to uninstall IE8 without first uninstalling the most-recently installed Service Pack.

Thank you for that Robear, very useful information to have and would advise that everyone read it or you could end up with what we used to call version soup in the WinME ng's and wasn't that fun to sort out :roll:
